v  May 8^th- Field day 12”15-2:15 You are welcome to come and join the fun

v  May 9, 10^th, and 11^th- PROGRESS checks 8:30-till around 10

v  May 14^th- Writer’s Celebration 1:00-2:00 (PLEASE plan on coming to hear your child read his/her stories that he/she  has written this year) More information to come home soon

 LANGUAGE ARTS:

           Reading : Daily 3: Reading Stations, Read to Self and Partner Read

                Reading Skill: characters, beginning, middle, and end; problem and solution, retelling stories, main idea, making connections and asking questions, CAUSE AND EFFECT, MAIN IDEA   

                Word Study: R-controlled vowels (ir, ur, er, ar)

    Writing: Nonfiction stories: How-To writing

Grammar: verbs (action word), adjectives (describing words), nouns, synonyms, antonyms, compound words

 MATH: money (identifying the coins and value, trading coins: 10 pennies for a dime, 5 pennies for a nickel; making and counting combinations of coins, dollar bills- identifying, trading)   

       SCIENCE: Light and Shadows
