Soon we are going to start reading groups so your child will have reading homework every night. I am going to send home a reading envelope that is going to contain 4 books, on your child’s reading level, which needs to be returned every Friday. Parents please sign the sheet on the envelope so I know you and your child practiced reading those books together. Please have your child respond 2 times a week. I will post ideas on how to respond at a later date. I am excited to see what fabulous readers your children become.
Please practice sight words every night. The sight word lists for first grade are located in your child’s B.E.E. book under the sight word tab. My mom comes in on Monday and Friday and quizzes your children on the words. If your child knows more words they get to get a gumball. J
Soon we are going to start spelling. The spelling words are located in your child’s B.E.E. book under the spelling words tab. I am going to put a spelling menu under the tab so your child can start completing spelling homework on Thursday nights.
I do count homework in their effort conduct grade for each nine weeks.
